About Mrs. Lillian Davis

Mrs. Lillian Marie Davis (1939-2005) was a community activist and promoter of education. She graduated from Lincoln High School, in Evansville, Indiana and attended IUPUI. She retired from the Indianapolis Parks and Recreation Department in 2002. her husband Oliver Davis Sr. raise eight children on the near westside of Indianapolis on Riverside Drive.  All their children attend Indianapolis Public Schools from Kindergarten to Eighth grade.

Prior to her passing she was very active in the community.  She was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Leah Chapter Eastern Star No.2, O.E.S., Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church Usher Board, IPS School Board Member & President, President of the Riverside Civic League, United Northwest Association (UNWA) Board Member, Veolia Water Company-Indianapolis Group Advisory Board Member, and Marion County Sheriff’s Department Board Member.

  • 2006 Posthumous award – Crime Fighter of the Year Award Indy Park Rangers
